This STILL happens.

Sorry, I gacked this from my friend [livejournal.com profile] flamingchords.

Human Rights Watch has appealed to Saudi Arabia to halt the execution of a woman convicted of witchcraft.

So this guy can't get it up, and a woman is beaten and sentenced to death because of it.

It boggles me that this can still happen anywhere in the world.

the only people who need to be beaten here are the "police" and the "accusers." i don't mean that figuratively. i mean that literally. fucking tased, too.

Wtf. You know consciously I realize this happens all over, but I still don't want to believe it, ya know? I read Tamora Pierce's LJ because I love her books and her stance on feminism, and she posted something similar to this about a woman and man who were beaten by the law after both were forced from their car and raped because the woman was alone with this man who wasn't her husband or family. This was also in a middle eastern country that was under sharia law.

Fucking assholes, all of them.

I know; I couldn't say it better. My mind realizes that it's true, not just in the movies and newspapers, but that it actually happens to people. But it's so hard to grasp HOW it can still happen.
