ok. now your second light source is mostly the culprit. is it a directional light, or just a floating ball of light?if it isn't directional, then just how strong a light is it? also, if it is between the two, it won't cast the tree shadow in the same direction. now the tree trunk. The white part is where the light shines on it? if the light is omnidirectional(floating ball of light), then it will light up the trunk as well as down. how far the light goes in each direction will be directly related to how strong a light it is. so the light needs to fade out at each end as a function of how strong it is. if the light is strong enough, the original shadow will either not show, or be very faint, both for the tree, and your person. still kind of waking up right now, so I hope that made some sense to you.
