OTOH, sometimes you can smell an apple pie, and sometimes the apple pie really exists. Everything is perception. That's not supposed to sound deep or anything. ;)

I happen to find apple pie quite deep. In fact, the deeper the better...

I kinda disagree. I think so much of life (faith) is based around what people can't prove, explain or see. And in my experience, that's nothing but problematic for all of mankind. But I speak as a thoroughly fed up atheist when I say that.

I see your point. That's very true. I'm guilty of seeing things from the nerdish perspective that focuses on my interests and conveniently forgets certain things. Though I didn't mean that in a condescending way. I think we are pretty intelligent beasts when we leave the superstition behind, and we are using that intellect when we reject things we can't prove. I don't think that's a bad thing, it often serves us well. And anyone who isn't fed up by now, atheist or not, has joined the dark side and is feeding off the stupidity.

Ahh, but she expends about fifteen minutes of class time every day expounding on her virtues as a healer. We all have to hear, every day, about how awesome she is!

WTF is it about these people???? The best healers I have met are always convinced anyone could do what they do and have fantastic and irreverent senses of humor. The crap ones always want to let you know how amazing they are.
