Frankenstorm

This is coming. I got a mandatory evacuation call, which I ignored. Then the fire department came around door to door. I had to sign a paper saying that I understood that failure to comply with an evacuation was a misdemeanor and that I was in grave danger. But the only danger is the rising tide from the beach. I do have somewhere to go w/ family if it comes to that. We'd just go a few miles inland, to my cousin's husband's Dad's house (he's in Florida.) Also, my house is on a little hill. The yard does flood, still. I mean, if they're talking about a huge, rushing tide, then we might be in trouble. But the bay water usually comes up pretty slowly. Although I realize that this storm is more dangerous than any of the past ones. Anyway, the guy who came to the door was super cute. Turns out he's my elderly neighbor's grandson. :D
Here's what I got done in preparation: Shopping, ice, non-perishable dinners and snacks, windows taped, laundry dry, fish tank scrubbed clean (in case I lose the filter,) electronics charged, buckets of water to flush the toilet, potential projectiles in the yard taken down, and a few days worth of dinner cooking, and eggs cooked for Havoc. I still have to water all my plants. I've got cases of water and batteries. We're really stuck when it comes to having a shower, because Long Island is expected to lose power for 7-10 days. Which also means no work, no income.
And no internet, of course. *CRIES AND CRIES*
And probably no Halloween this year.

Anyway, here we go!
