crap drawing
I figured if I used an eye-catching and funny kind of lj cut some people whould have to click on it out of curiosity.
It started like this:

And then went to this:

And ended up, very crappily, like this:

I dunno, I got kind of bored this weekend and I was sort if just sitting here thinking, "Hey, I don't want to write, actually. I'd rather listen to music." So that's when I start to do crappy drawings. And then I color them, even though I hate that worse than actually drawing.
Again, I like the uncolored version better. I ruined his face when I colored it. Also, notice how I can never draw legs so that they look like legs instead of logs at odd angles. I do like the wall behind him, though, although I cheated on that one. It's just a ton of filters, such as sketch, blur and emboss.
For anyone out there who may have been following this character over the years, I apologize profoundly for the sudden name change. I hate being wanky like that and doing wanky writerly things. For anyone who missed the memo (everyone) and anyone who cares (no one,) this character--Tristan--used to be Hisoka. When I got serious about deciding to publish, I realized I couldn't use the name Hisoka anymore. It's a common Japanese word and also a common name in manga, and it doesn't belong in a fictional world. I'm sorry for that, and for being wanky in that writerly way much of the time.
Anyway, this crappy drawing is based loosely on a scene with Lillia and Tristan (it's hard for me to get used to writing that name,) which was never written, but implied.
I should write, as I'm much better at that than I am at drawing. Or at least I hope I am.
These things look so much darker and muddier on a web page than they do in my painting programs and on my desktop. Why is that?
