I actually heard that the billboards were not by rich people, but by people who were snowed by this cult bullshit and had spent their life savings on them and stuff. sad.
On the one hand, I can laugh about the rapture shit, especially the Facebook event for post-rapture looting. But on the other, there is a part of me that feels sorry for people who have to be so unwilling to address things in their lives which are deeply upsetting or terrifying or which they perceive to be unfixable, such that they're susceptible to a doomsday cult mentality. Fucking sad.
